These comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 2015 International Building Code,(IBC) 2015 International Residential Code,(IRC) as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code, (WSEC) 2015 Edition, and adopted by the City of Everett, unless stated otherwise. In order for the processing of your application to continue, It will be necessary to provide the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the corrections requested. The revised drawings shall clearly define the scope of the work to be done and show how it meets the requirements of all applicable codes. 1. The construction drawings shall show how the proposed dwelling will meet the minimum requirements of the Washington State Energy Code. Specify insulation value in all components and the U-Value of all fenestration. 2. Rigid insulation is required to extend from the top of the foundation wall to the top of the footing. If the top of the footing is more than 24 inches below grade, the Insulation Is not required to extend beyond the minimum 24 inch depth. Show insulation and protective cover on all section drawings. 3. Rigid insulation installed above grade is required to be protected from Impact and ex••,. to ultraviolet light. Please provide detail showing how insulation is protected. 4. Headers in exterior walls are required to be insulated with minimum R-10 Rigid Insulation Show requirement In typical wall section (see #9 below).
