Please review and
respond to the comments below.
General
1. The building underwent a tenant improvement (under permit C0604-002) in 2008, which
was never completed and has since expired. There have been no building permits for the
building since. As part of that plan submission, drawings were provided showing the
condition of the existing toilet rooms, which differ substantially from the drawings for the
existing building that have been submitted currently for permit. Under the previously
expired permit, no work(plumbing, mechanical or building)to revise the toilet rooms was
inspected or approved. The condition of the existing toilet rooms is therefore Unlawful
and must be revised. Sections 105.1 & 114.1
a. The following comments apply to the two toilet rooms in the basement:
i. The rooms are required to be fully accessible to the current standards of
the codes. Revised drawings should be provided that show clearances, grab
bars, mounting heights, etc. Section 1109.2
b. The plumbing for the current toilet-room fixtures has not been inspected or
approved. A permit is required for the new fixtures, inspection will commence at
rough-in. Sections 105.1 & 110.6
c. Exhaust fans should be shown in the toilet rooms and vented to the exterior. IMC
Section 403.3.1.2
2. The raised platform is higher than 7" above the finished floor below. A step should be
shown (minimum of 11" in run) to access the platform. Section 1011.5.2
3. The stairs to the platform should be provided with handrails on each side. Section 1011.11
/73
