4. The existing stairs should be shown with a minimum of one handrail. IPMC Section 307.1 <br /> 5. The plans should show exit signs on each floor leading to the exits. The exit signs should <br /> be hard-wired with battery backup. IFC Section 1104.3 <br /> 6. The plans should show egress lighting for the exit ways on each floor. IFC Section 1104.5 <br /> 7. The stairs should be shown to be rebuilt such that the <br /> tolerance between the largest and smallest riser height (or tread depth) does not exceed <br /> 3/8", the stair rise does not exceed 7" and the tread depth is a minimum of 11". Section <br /> 1011.5 <br /> 12.A detail should be provided that shows how the new guard at the stairs will resist the <br /> structural forces required per Section 1607.8 <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the <br /> Building Division with two new sets of revised construction documents reflecting the corrections <br /> requested.
