1 9-08.1(7) Acceptance <br /> 2 This section is revised to read: <br /> 3 <br /> 4 For projects with moisture-cured polyurethane quantities less than 20 gallons, acceptance <br /> 5 will be by the Manufacturer's Certificate of Compliance. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 For projects with moisture-cured polyurethane quantities greater than 20 gallons, the <br /> 8 product shall be listed in the current WSDOT Qualified Products List (QPL). If the lot <br /> 9 number is listed on the QPL, it may be accepted without additional testing. If the lot number <br /> 10 is not listed on the QPL, a 1 quart sample shall be submitted to the State Materials <br /> 11 Laboratory for testing and acceptance. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 For all other paint types, acceptance will be based on visual inspection. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 9-08.1(8) Standard Colors <br /> 16 In the first paragraph, the reference to "Federal Standard 595" is revised to read "SAE AMS <br /> 17 Standard 595". <br /> 18 <br /> 19 The second paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Unless otherwise specified, all top or finish coats shall be semi-gloss, with the paint falling <br /> 22 within the range of 35 to 70 on the 60-degree gloss meter. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 9-08.2 Powder Coating Materials for Coating Galvanized Surfaces <br /> 25 The last paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Repair materials shall be as recommended by the powder coating manufacturer and as <br /> 28 specified in the Contractor's powder coating plan as accepted by the Engineer. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 9-08.3 Pigmented Sealer Materials for Coating of Concrete Surfaces <br /> 31 This section, including title, is revised to read: <br /> 32 <br /> 33 9-08.3 Concrete Surface Treatments <br /> 34 9-08.3(1) Pigmented Sealer Materials <br /> 35 The pigmented sealer shall be a semi-opaque, colored toner containing only methyl111 <br /> 36 methacrylate-ethyl acrylate copolymer resins, toning pigments suspended in solution at <br /> 37 all times by a chemical suspension agent, and solvent. Toning pigments shall be <br /> 38 laminar silicates, titanium dioxide, and inorganic oxides only. There shall be no settling <br /> 39 or color variation. Tinting shall occur at the factory at the time of manufacture and <br /> 40 placement in containers, prior to initial shipment. Use of vegetable or marine oils, <br /> 41 paraffin materials, stearates, or organic pigments in any part of coating formulation will <br /> 42 not be permitted. The color of pigmented sealer shall be as specified by the <br /> 43 Contracting Agency. The Contractor shall submit a 1-quart wet sample, a drawdown <br /> 44 color sample, and spectrophotometer or colorimeter readings taken in accordance with <br /> 45 ASTM D2244, for each batch and corresponding standard color card. The calculated <br /> 46 Delta E shall not exceed 1.5 from the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage <br /> 47 (CIELAB) when measured at 10 degrees Standard Observer and Illuminant D 65. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 The 1-quart wet sample shall be submitted in the manufacturer's labeled container with <br /> 50 product number, batch number, and size of batch.
