The presence of exposed wiring, defective electrical outlets and the use of flexible cords(extension <br /> cords)in place of permanent wiring are violations of International Property Maintenance Code <br /> (IPMC)605.1 and 605.4, as adopted by the EMC,which read: <br /> IPMC 605.1 Installation. <br /> Electrical equipment, wiring and appliances shall be properly installed and maintained in a safe <br /> and approved manner. <br /> IPMC 605.4 Wiring. <br /> Flexible cords shall not be used for permanent wiring, or for running through doors, windows, or <br /> cabinets, or concealed within walls,floors, or ceilings. <br /> To resolve these issues you must: <br /> 1. Cease use of the extension cords within the residence immediately. <br /> 2. Hire an electrical contractor to access the electrical system. <br /> 3. Contact the City of Everett Building Division located at 3200 Cedar Street to apply for and <br /> obtain all of the necessary and required permits to bring the structure into compliance with <br /> the Everett Municipal Code, including the new furnace installation,the deck repair and <br /> electrical repairs.Correct and complete all of the deficiencies that are present within the <br /> structure and have the work inspected and approved, by the Everett City building Division. <br /> Complete this corrective action by June 17,2019. <br /> Failure to comply with the conditions listed in this notice may result in a hearing before the City's <br /> Hearing Examiner and a fine and/or costs being assessed against you. <br /> If you have any questions please call me at(425)257-8564 or e-mail dcunningham@everettwa.gov. <br /> Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> '—WZaj <br /> Don Cunningham <br /> Code Enforcement Officer <br /> Everett Police Department <br /> Num <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br />
