The presence of exposed wiring, defective electrical outlets and the use of flexible cords(extension <br /> cords)in place of permanent wiring are violations of International Property Maintenance Code <br /> (IPMC)605.1 and 605.4, as adopted by the EMC,which read: <br /> IPMC 605.1 Installation. <br /> Electrical equipment, wiring and appliances shall be properly installed and maintained in a safe <br /> and approved manner. <br /> IPMC 605.4 Wiring. <br /> Flexible cords shall not be used for permanent wiring, or for running through doors, windows, or <br /> cabinets, or concealed within walls,floors, or ceilings. <br /> To resolve these issues you must: <br /> 1. Cease use of the extension cords within the residence immediately. <br /> 2. Hire an electrical contractor to access the electrical system. <br /> 3.
