This project developed from the City's 2009 Everett Freight Access & Mobility
Study and Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan.
The SR 526 Corridor Improvements project is in the alternatives analysis phase and is identifying
improvements that could benefit all modes of transportation on State Route 526 (Boeing Freeway) between
State Route 525 (Paine Field Boulevard) and Interstate 5. The project is focused on improving travel times
during the peak commute periods, improving freight access to and from the aerospace manufacturing center
and the Southwest Everett Industrial Area, and addressing safety.
WSDOT has developed concepts with project stakeholders and is preparing to attend neighborhood meetings
to inform the public and solicit input. This presentation is to brief City Council on the progress to date and
provide a brief history, discuss the findings, and outline the concepts and potential benefits.
RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council):
(Informational Briefing; No Action Required)
