The Port is working to deliver on a vision the citizens of Everett and the City have set for the Port's
Waterfront Place to create a mixed -use, destination waterfront that supports a balanced
waterfront of recreation and working uses. This vision finds the Port amid a multi -year, multi-
million -dollar effort to revitalize the 65-acres of prime upland property that was heavily
contaminated by historic prior uses at the center of the recreational waterfront that contains 18-
acres of new public access and access to the Port's Jetty Island, the largest, warmest sandy beach
in the Puget Sound. We are also making public access investments north of Waterfront Place with
our Bay Wood property and Riverside Business Park, all in support of the City's Shoreline Public
Access Plan.
We have been fortunate in the Everett community to have city leadership and staff that value our
working waterfront to ensure we have a balanced waterfront that mutually supports job creation,
military efforts, livability and recreation. This partnership is not always enjoyed by other maritime
communities, particularly in the Seattle area, and is a unique benefit to our community.
Partnership and collaboration have always been our strength in Everett and Snohomish County.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Respectfully Submitted,
Les Reardanz
CEO/Executive Director
Port of Everett
Encl. hops:/ldeptoPcomimerce.app. box. cam/s/ccvku9omtai20Ie4zzkum4fesvhOmv49
cc: Port Commissioners
County Executive Dave Somers
Snohomish County Council
Commanding Officer, Naval Station Everett
2
