ORDINANCE NO. / goe - 7/ AN ORDINANCE providing for the protection o4the public health and safetyexamination, regulation, licensing of persons engaged in the business of plumbing or laboring at the trade of plumbing requiring a permit for installation or alteration of plumbing, gas and drainage systems; creating the office of Plumbing Official and a Board of Plumbing Examiners, and prescribing their duties; defining certain terms; establishing minimum regulations for plumbing, gas and drainage systems and inspection thereof; providing for penalties for violation thereof; and providing for the adoption by reference of the Uniform Plumbing Code as issued for the year 1970 by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials as the Plumbing Code and Ordinance for the City of Everett and repealing Ordinance No. 3838, Everett City Code 2. 16. 010 through 2. 16. 230. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That the 1970 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code as prepared and edited by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, subject to the modifications, additions and changes hereinafter set forth, is hereby adopted as amended, supplemented and modified herein as the Plumbing Code and Ordinance of the City of Everett, Washington, there being three copies of said Plumbing Code on file with the City Clerk of the City of Everett and such Code by reference is hereby made a part of this ordinance as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That the Uniform Plumbing Code as adopted is supplemented as follows (a) That Part One, Sec. 1. 1 is completed by filling in the blank therein as follows: "Inspector of Sewers and Plumbing" (b) That Part One, Sec. 1. 2 is completed by filling in the blank therein as follows: "person or persons appointed by or as Assistants of the Inspector of Sewers and Plumbing" (c) That Part One, Sec. 1. 3 is completed by filling in the blank therein as follows: "Inspection" (d) That Part One, Sec. 1. 7 is completed by filling in the blanks therein as follows: $500. 00" "City" "Six" (e) That Part Two, Sec. 2. 9 is completed by filling in the blanks therein as follows: "December 31" "December 31" (f) That Part Two, Sec. 2. 10 is completed by filling in the blanks therein as follows: "$7. 50" "$10. 00" Section 3: That Part 1, Sec. 1. 12, is hereby amended to read as follows. "Sec. 1. 12 - Cost of Permit Every applicant for a permit to install, add to, alter, relocate or replace a plumbing or drainage system or part thereof, shall state in writing on the application form provided for that purpose, the character of work proposed Page 1
