• t •' • Section 5: Since greater perfO mance and efficiency can be secured from employees who have adequate medical furnished on a uniform basis , it is in the best interests of the City of Everett to provide a dual-choice medical care plan as part of the consideration of employment. Therefore, the City will provide , as a form of additional compensation to all City employees , including the Mayor and the members of the City Council, who request it, except members of the Police and Fire Department covered by statutory medical plans and temporary employees , a portion of the cost of a prepaid medical plan acceptable to the City. Payment of the City' s portion of the medical plan is not to exceed $28. 89 per month for the Pacific Mutual Plan or $24. 21 per month for the Snohomish County Physician Plan per employee for employees in the Pay Range Numbers prefaced by A, B, C, D or E in Section 2 above. Section 6 : _The appointment of all employees in all departments , where .required by City Charter, shall be subject to Civil Service regulations of the Cityof Everett, providing in event vacancies occur and there is no eligibility list from which said vacancy may be filled , temporary appoint- ment may be made of persons without Civil Service standing. All persons paid on an hourly basis as hereinafter or herein set forth shall be considered and be day laborers as defined by the City Charter governing Civil Service. Section 7: Ordinance No. 113-71 and all ordinances in conflict herewith of the City of Everett, and all amendments thereto be , and the same are hereby repealed.
