• <br /> t •' • <br /> Section 5: Since greater perfO mance and efficiency can be secured from <br /> employees who have adequate medical furnished on a uniform basis , it <br /> is in the best interests of the City of Everett to provide a dual-choice <br /> medical care plan as part of the consideration of employment. <br /> Therefore, the City will provide , as a form of additional compensation <br /> to all City employees , including the Mayor and the members of the City <br /> Council, who request it, except members of the Police and Fire Department <br /> covered by statutory medical plans and temporary employees , a portion of <br /> the cost of a prepaid medical plan acceptable to the City. Payment of <br /> the City' s portion of the medical plan is not to exceed $28. 89 per <br /> month for the Pacific Mutual Plan or $24. 21 per month for the Snohomish <br /> County Physician Plan per employee for employees in the Pay Range Numbers <br /> prefaced by A, B, C, D or E in Section 2 above. <br /> Section 6 : _The appointment of all employees in all departments , where <br /> .required by City Charter, shall be subject to Civil Service regulations of <br /> the Cityof Everett, providing in event vacancies occur and there is no <br /> eligibility list from which said vacancy may be filled , temporary appoint- <br /> ment may be made of persons without Civil Service standing. <br /> All persons paid on an hourly basis as hereinafter or herein <br /> set forth shall be considered and be day laborers as defined by the City <br /> Charter governing Civil Service. <br /> Section 7: Ordinance No. 113-71 and all ordinances in conflict herewith of <br /> the City of Everett, and all amendments thereto be , and the same are hereby <br /> repealed. <br /> Section 8 : That an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance <br /> shall take effect upon February 3 , 1971. • <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> a <br /> DEPUTY City Clerk <br /> Passed: 02_ 3 -'7 / <br /> Valid: �_ �- 7/ <br /> Published: a _ �,�� <br />
