• Section 4 : There is hereby adopted as part of the salary ordinance a longevity schedule for full time employees based on years of service as follows : . . beginning with the first of the 6th year •- Base pay plus $10 .00 per month; beginning with the first of the 11th year - Base pay plus $20 .00 per month; beginning with the first of the 16th year - Base pay plus $30 .00 per month; beginning with the first of the 21st year - Base pay plus $4.0 .00 per month; Longevity shall not affect part-time or appointed employees . • Section 5 : Since greater performance and efficiency can be secured from employees who have adequate medical care furnished on a uniform basis , it is in the best interests of the City of Everett to provide a dual- choice medical care plan as part of the consideration of employment. Therefore , the City will provide, as a form of additional compensation to all City employees , including the Mayor and the members of the City . Council, who request it, except members of the Police and Fire Department covered by statutory medical plans and temporary employees , a portion of the cost of a prepaid medical plan acceptable to the City. Payment of the City' s portion of the medical plan is not to exceed $28. 89 per month for the Pacific Mutual Plan or $24 .21 per month for the Snohomish County Physician Plan per employee for employees in the Pay Range Numbers prefaced by A, B, C, D or E in Section 2 above. Payment of a portion of the cost by the City is not to exceed $17 . 00 per month per employee for employees in Pay Ranges Numbers prefaced by R in Section 2 above . • Section 6 : The appointment of all employees in all departments , where required by City Charter, shall be subject to Civil Service regulations of the City of Everett, providing in event vacancies occur and there is no eligibility list from which said vacancy may be filled, temporary appoint- ment may be made of persons without Civil Service standing.
