• <br /> Section 4 : There is hereby adopted as part of the salary ordinance a <br /> longevity schedule for full time employees based on years of service as <br /> follows : . . <br /> beginning with the first of the 6th year •- Base pay plus $10 .00 per month; <br /> beginning with the first of the 11th year - Base pay plus $20 .00 per month; <br /> beginning with the first of the 16th year - Base pay plus $30 .00 per month; <br /> beginning with the first of the 21st year - Base pay plus $4.0 .00 per month; <br /> Longevity shall not affect part-time or appointed employees . • <br /> Section 5 : Since greater performance and efficiency can be secured from <br /> employees who have adequate medical care furnished on a uniform basis , <br /> it is in the best interests of the City of Everett to provide a dual- <br /> choice medical care plan as part of the consideration of employment. <br /> Therefore , the City will provide, as a form of additional compensation <br /> to all City employees , including the Mayor and the members of the City . <br /> Council, who request it, except members of the Police and Fire Department <br /> covered by statutory medical plans and temporary employees , a portion of <br /> the cost of a prepaid medical plan acceptable to the City. Payment of <br /> the City' s portion of the medical plan is not to exceed $28. 89 per <br /> month for the Pacific Mutual Plan or $24 .21 per month for the Snohomish <br /> County Physician Plan per employee for employees in the Pay Range Numbers <br /> prefaced by A, B, C, D or E in Section 2 above. Payment of a portion <br /> of the cost by the City is not to exceed $17 . 00 per month per employee <br /> for employees in Pay Ranges Numbers prefaced by R in Section 2 above . <br /> • <br /> Section 6 : The appointment of all employees in all departments , where <br /> required by City Charter, shall be subject to Civil Service regulations of <br /> the City of Everett, providing in event vacancies occur and there is no <br /> eligibility list from which said vacancy may be filled, temporary appoint- <br /> ment may be made of persons without Civil Service standing. <br />
