To:Ted de Budden <TdeBudden@everettwa.gov> <br /> Subject:2106 Oakes Ave <br /> Ted- <br /> I inspected the detached garage and basement of the residence at 2106 Oakes Ave,yesterday Feb.22,2018. Please <br /> review my attached inspection photos and notes. The inspection revealed extensive electrical work and other alteration <br /> has been done without required permits.The work is uncompleted but it appeared extension cords are used to deliver <br /> power—for office work inside. I told the owner power to the garage must stop and nothing energized until permits are <br /> issued for the work. An apartment with kitchen, living room and bedroom are also present in the basement. Ceiling <br /> height fails to meet minimum for living space,the bedroom lacks code compliant egress and the work appears to be <br /> unpermitted and likely non-compliant with code. <br /> Do you agree both structures have been altered without required permits in violation of IRC 105.1, rendering them <br /> Unlawful as described by IPMC 108.1.4, in violation of IPMC 106.1? <br /> I intend to issue a Violation Citation, requiring the basement not be used for any living or sleeping purposes(unless <br /> approved in the future), disconnect all power to the garage and abate all violations via the permit process. <br /> Thoughts? <br /> Thanks Ted <br /> Don <br /> Donald Cunningham <br /> Code Enforcement Officer <br /> Everett Police Department <br /> Desk 425 257-8564 <br /> dcunningham@everettwa.gov <br /> \ 2 c7 <br />
