26. Wire nuts may be used only in accessible locations and in no place <br /> where it is subject to the weather or corrosion. <br /> 27. Other than secondary lighting all flourescent fixtures in fire zones <br /> #1 and #2 and commercial buildings shall be wired in an approved metal raceway. <br /> 28. The smallest sized 'wire permitted in commercial or industrial <br /> buildings other than control wiring and voltage of 24 volts or less shall be <br /> number twelve (12) American Wire Gauge. <br /> 29. All replacement ballast shall be wired 'with non-resetting thermal <br /> device or fuse raises in accordance with the ampacity reading of the ballast. <br /> 30. In the installation of motors of 1/3 horsepower and over, such <br /> motors shall be supplied by the special purpose circuit. The total connected <br /> horsepower on these circuits shall be in the conformity of the National Electric <br /> Code. Special purpose circuits shall not be used to supply general lighting <br /> or utility circuits. <br /> 31. Glass sliding doors, floor to ceiling glass windows, and utility <br /> rooms shall meet the receptacle requirements of Section 210-22B of the National <br /> Electric Code. In hallways, a receptacle shall be required every 15 lineal <br /> feet or fraction thereof. <br /> 32. Whenever the National Electric Code requires an insulated bushing, <br /> Sections 346-8 and 373. 6B only the screw on type will be considered as acceptable. <br /> 33. Only one box extension may be used unless the depth of the box and <br /> extension does not exceed the length or width measurement whichever is greater. <br /> 34. All conduits, fittings and boxes used outside of buildings within <br /> the waterfront area shall be rigid conduit, sheridized, galvanized or approved <br /> type plastic. <br /> 35. Commercial and/or Industrial wiring shall be performed by a <br /> licensed and bonded firm or person or by qualified person who is employed <br /> by the company for which the wiring is being done, whose duty with the company <br /> is only that of installing wiring and electrical equipment. <br /> 36. All buildings on which plans are required shall provide a complete <br /> electrical drawing showing one line diagram of service equipment, equipment <br /> and conduit sizes, sub-panels, ratings and sizes by catalogue number, panel <br /> schedules and circuit loads. Feeder and feeder loads, all services for <br /> apartments, motels or hotels shall be accompanied by the designer's work sheet <br /> showing diversities taken in computing sizes of feeds and service conductors. <br /> When the Building Official issues the permit, he shall endorse in writing or <br /> stamp the plans and specifications "APPROVED. " Such approved plans <br /> and specifications shall not be changed, modified, or altered without authorization <br /> from the Building Official, and all work shall be done in accordance with the <br /> approved plans. Any contractor not using the original electrical plans submitted <br /> shall pay an additional plan-checking fee in the amount of 25% of the plan-checking <br /> fee required by Sec. 303 of the Uniform Building Code, Vol. 1 and not less <br /> than $10. 00. <br /> Page 5 <br />
