• <br /> by Ordinance No. 4308, Section 1, (Everett City Code 2. 12. 010) <br /> be and hereby is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 203(d) Right to Demolish. <br /> In case the owner shall fail, neglect or refuse to comply <br /> with the notice to repair, rehabilitate or to demolish and <br /> remove said building, or structure, or portion thereof, <br /> the City Council may order the owner of the building <br /> prosecuted as a violator of the provision of this code <br /> and may order the building official to proceed with the <br /> work specified in such notice. " <br /> Section 4: <br /> That Section 203(e) of Volume 1, Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, <br /> as prepared by the International Conference of Building Officials (as adopted <br /> by Ordinance No. 4308, Section 1, Everett City Code 2. 12. 010) be <br /> and hereby is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 203(e) Costs. <br /> The amount of the cost of such repairs, alterations or <br /> improvements, vacating and closing, or removal or <br /> demolition by the Building Official, plus $250. 00 administration <br /> and collection fee costs, shall be collected from the owner <br /> by collection procedures, including action on the debt <br /> and execution, or such costs may be assessed against <br /> the real property upon which such cost was incurred <br /> unless such amount is previously paid. <br /> A. In the event that costs are assessed against the real <br /> property, the County Treasurer of Snohomish County, <br /> upon certification to him by the Treasurer of the City <br /> of Everett of the amount being due and owing shall <br /> enter the amount of such assessment upon the tax <br /> rolls against the property for the current year, and <br /> the same shall become a part of the general taxes <br /> for that year to be collected at the same time and <br /> with the same interest, (not to exceed ten percent) <br /> and penalties, and when collected shall be deposited <br /> to the credit of the general fund of the City of Everett, <br /> PROVIDED, that the Treasurer of the City of Everett, <br /> upon written request of the owner or party in interest, <br /> may divide the amount due into equal annual installments, <br /> subject to earlier payment at the option of the owner or <br /> party in interest, provided such installments shall be <br /> no less than $15. 00. <br /> B. If the building is removed or demolished under the direction <br /> of the Building Official, the Building Official may, if possible, <br /> sell the materials of such buildings, provided that any such <br /> Page 2 <br />
