• <br /> for overtime due to vacations, sickness or other unforeseen conditions, <br /> shall be paid at an hourly rate based on one and one-half times his monthly <br /> salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight, which payment shall be in addition <br /> to his regular monthly payment. <br /> Any policeman or policewoman who shall be required to attend <br /> a court or hearing to testify as a witness for the City or the State of Washington <br /> at any time other than during his or her shift of work shall be allowed payment <br /> of overtime pay based at the rate of one and one-half times his or her monthly <br /> salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight, and shall receive a minimum of <br /> two hours pay at such overtime rate for each such attendance. Any policeman <br /> or policewoman who shall be required to work when an emergency has been <br /> declared to exist by the chief of the police department or duly authorized <br /> supervisor, at any time other than his or her regular shift, shall be paid <br /> for such overtime work at the rate of one and one-half times his or her <br /> monthly salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight. <br /> All day laborers who shall be directed by the head of their <br /> department or duly authorized supervisor to work more than eight <br /> hours in any one day, or more than forty hours in any calendar week or <br /> on any day that is designated as a holiday by this ordinance, except <br /> Sundays, shall be paid for such overtime work, or work on such holidays, <br /> at an hourly rate equal to one and one-half times the daily wage divided by <br /> eight. <br /> All employees of the communications department who shall be <br /> directed by the head of their department or duly authorized supervisor <br /> to work more than eight hours in any one day or on any day that is designated <br /> as a holiday by this ordinance, except Sundays, shall be paid for such overtime <br /> work, or work on such holidays, at an hourly rate based upon one and one-half <br /> times the employee's monthly salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight. <br /> All overtime of fire fighters except for emergency work, will be <br /> maintained from the seniority list kept by the head of the department. This <br /> record shall show the date of call and response for each person called as to <br /> whether it was refused, on duty, no answer, sickness, or vacation. If a <br /> man refuses, he will automatically be passed by until a complete cycle of the <br /> seniority list has been made. In the event an officer is needed to fill a shift <br /> because there is no qualified fire fighter on said shift, the Chief of the department <br /> shall authorize an officer of the same rank to be worked on overtime. This <br /> shall be authorized from the seniority list. <br /> All fire fighters called back to work for an emergency situation <br /> shall be paid at least 2 hours minimum at the overtime rate of pay. <br />
