Section 6: If a holiday specified in this ordinance falls within <br /> the employee's actual vacation, the employee may add one extra day to his <br /> vacation time. <br /> Section 7: None of the provisions of this section shall apply <br /> to workmen engaged or working upon detached or independent pieces of <br /> construction work, temporary in character, of the class which may be done <br /> by contract to the lowest bidder or by day labor as provided by the City <br /> Charter where the Mayor or City Council shall have determined that such <br /> work to be performed by day labor and authorized the employment of workmen <br /> thereon without the necessity of selection from the civil service eligibility <br /> list, except that day laborers employed in any department under provision of <br /> the budget of the city who shall have been employed continuously over <br /> six months in the previous year shall be entitled to the benefits of this <br /> act. <br /> Section 8: Ordinances 4336, 3536 and 3580 are hereby repealed. <br /> Section 9: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this <br /> ordinance shall take effect January 1, 1970. <br /> giLi- Lee_ <br /> MAYOR <br /> ATTEST: <br /> —1\ <br /> PEP_UTY City Clerk <br /> Passed: / c,.2- .2 V--6, <br /> Valid: / - .2 9 <br /> Published: / - d 6, <br />
