• <br /> • <br /> • CDR.0I N 44-f <br /> . • <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating motor vehicles, <br /> traffic, travel. and transportation and their incidents upon <br /> • city streets; the powers and duties of the Mayor and <br /> others in relation thereto; defining offenses; providing <br /> penalties; amending Everett Cif.y Code, Section 8, 12. 010 <br /> • dealing with one-way streets arid alleys, designation :: <br /> traffic rules - authority to install traffic control devices; <br /> • and repealing City. Code Sections 8. 12, 010 (1) through (8) <br /> inclusive (Ordinance 4172, Section 1), 8. 48. 1.30 (Ordinance <br /> 3211, Section 178) and 8. 48, 140 (Ordinance 3211, Section <br /> 179) and all other Everett City Code sections or parts of <br /> said sections, insofar as they are in conflict herewith. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> • <br /> Section 1: That Everett City Code 8. 12`, 010 be, and the same is hereby <br /> amended, to read as follows, to-wit: • <br /> 8. 12. 010 ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS DESIGNATION - <br /> TRAFFIC RULES -- AUTHORITY TO INSTALL TRAFFIC • <br /> CONTROL DEVICES. <br /> The City Council of the City of Everett may, by ordinance, designate any <br /> city streets or alleys for one-way traffic, and upon such designation being <br /> • made by the City Council by ordinance, the Mayor, or his designee, shall <br /> erect appropriate signs giving notice thereof; provided, that upon a street, <br /> alley or roadway designated and• sign posted for one- way traffic, a vehicle <br /> passing around a rotary traffic island shall be driven only to the right of <br /> ti. <br /> • <br /> such island. <br /> Section 2: AUTHORITY TO PROHIBIT PARKING <br /> • <br /> The City Council of the City of Everett may, by ordinance, prohibit at <br /> • <br /> certain times, or entirely, or shorten the time during which vehicles may <br /> be parked in locations where traffic tends to congest on any city streets, or <br /> alleys, and upon such ordinance the Mayor, or his designee, shall place <br /> appropriate signs indicating such locations and the hours during which the <br /> same shall be kept in force or deemed in use. <br /> • - Section 3: AUTHORITY TO INSTALL TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES• <br /> • (a) The Mayor, or his designee, be, and hereby is author- <br /> ized and dii.•ected to place and maintain traffic--control <br /> • signs, ' signals and devices when and as required under, <br /> • <br /> the traffic ordinances of this city to maize effective the ,- <br /> _provisions of said ordinances, <br /> 1 ' <br /> • <br /> • <br />
