Section 15: PARKING ADJACENT TO SCHOOLS <br /> The Mayor, or his designee, be and hereby is authorized to place and <br /> maintain signs indicating no parking upon either or both sides of` any city <br /> street or alley adjacent to any school property where such parking would in <br /> his opinion interfere V.fith traffic or create a lift irdous situation. <br /> Section 16: PARKING PROHIBITED ON NARROW STREETS <br /> (a) The City Council of the City of Everett may, by ordinance, <br /> prohibit parking upon both sides of any city street when the <br /> • width of the improved roadway does not exceed twenty (20) <br /> feet, or upon one side of any city street when the width of <br /> the improved roadway is between twenty (20) and twenty- . <br /> • eight (28) feet. • . <br /> (b) Whenever any ordinance of this City prohibits parking on a <br /> narrow street, the Mayor, or his designee, shall place and <br /> maintain signs in accordance with said ordinance. <br /> (c) When official signs prohibiting parking are erected upon <br /> . • narrow streets where parking has been prohibited by ordinance, <br /> no person shall park a vehicle upon any such street in violation <br /> of any such sign. <br /> Section 17: NO STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING NEAR HAZARD- <br /> OUS OR CONGESTED PLACES <br /> (a) The Mayor, or his designee, be and hereby is authorized <br /> to determine places not exceeding 100 feet in length in which <br /> the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles would in his <br /> opinion create an especially hazardous condition or would <br /> cause unusual delay to traffic and he shall designate said <br /> locations. <br /> (b) The Mayor, or his designee, shall place and maintain <br /> appropriate signs indicating said locations where no stopping, <br /> • <br /> standing or parking shall be permitted as authorized herein. <br /> (c) When official signs are erected at hazardous or congested <br /> places as authorized herein, no person shall stop, stand or <br /> park a vehicle in any such designated place. <br /> -5- <br />
