Section 15: PARKING ADJACENT TO SCHOOLS The Mayor, or his designee, be and hereby is authorized to place and maintain signs indicating no parking upon either or both sides of` any city street or alley adjacent to any school property where such parking would in his opinion interfere V.fith traffic or create a lift irdous situation. Section 16: PARKING PROHIBITED ON NARROW STREETS (a) The City Council of the City of Everett may, by ordinance, prohibit parking upon both sides of any city street when the • width of the improved roadway does not exceed twenty (20) feet, or upon one side of any city street when the width of the improved roadway is between twenty (20) and twenty- . • eight (28) feet. • . (b) Whenever any ordinance of this City prohibits parking on a narrow street, the Mayor, or his designee, shall place and maintain signs in accordance with said ordinance. (c) When official signs prohibiting parking are erected upon . • narrow streets where parking has been prohibited by ordinance, no person shall park a vehicle upon any such street in violation of any such sign. Section 17: NO STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING NEAR HAZARD- OUS OR CONGESTED PLACES (a) The Mayor, or his designee, be and hereby is authorized to determine places not exceeding 100 feet in length in which the stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles would in his opinion create an especially hazardous condition or would cause unusual delay to traffic and he shall designate said locations. (b) The Mayor, or his designee, shall place and maintain appropriate signs indicating said locations where no stopping, • standing or parking shall be permitted as authorized herein. (c) When official signs are erected at hazardous or congested places as authorized herein, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in any such designated place. -5-
