September 25, 2013 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 12:30 p.m., September 25, 2013 in the City Council Chambers of the <br /> Everett City Hall, President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found <br /> that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, <br /> Gipson, and Affholter were present. Council Members Bader and <br /> Stonecipher were excused. <br /> Mayor Stephanson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the September 18, 2013 City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council President Moore abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson reported on his attendance at the Coho Derby held <br /> this weekend and stated that it was very successful. <br /> UPDATE — STORM EVENTS <br /> Dave Davis, Public Works, gave an update on the progress being made <br /> related to the city's response regarding the August 29 and September 6, <br /> 2013 storm events. <br /> Tim Benedict, Legal, gave a brief update regarding the claims side of the <br /> storm events. He reiterated the claims process and reported that there <br /> have been approximately 110 claims filed to date. It is expected that most <br /> of the claims will be assigned to adjustors by the end of the week. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts reported on his attendance at the Northwest <br /> Neighborhood meeting. <br /> Council Member Gipson related an incident on September 12, 2013 <br /> involving a disabled individual who was sleeping on the sidewalk in <br /> downtown Everett. He expressed concern that 24 police agencies are <br /> bringing those who are charged with a crime to the Snohomish County jail. <br /> 259 <br />
