October 2, 2013 <br /> Council Member Murphy stated he attended the 8th Annual Governor's <br /> Aerospace Summit where Governor Inslee recognized Mayor Stephanson <br /> for his leadership in streamlining the regulatory process to secure the <br /> Boeing 777X jet in Washington State. <br /> Council Member Roberts stated he also attended the annual Governor's <br /> Aerospace Summit and thanked the Mayor for his leadership on the 777X <br /> search. Council Member Roberts stated he had an opportunity to share <br /> with the Snohomish County Sheriff and County Executive Lovick the <br /> concerns expressed by Council Member Gipson regarding jail release <br /> issues. <br /> President Moore thanked Council Member Gipson for bringing the jail <br /> release issues to the City Council's attention last week. He stated that <br /> Deputy Chief Templeman is currently working with the sheriff's office. <br /> Mayor Stephanson stated that the Sheriff's Department has already <br /> renegotiated a number of contracts that require prisoners that are housed <br /> here be returned to their community of origin. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Dorian Kostelyk, Everett, spoke regarding second-hand smoke originating <br /> from a ground-floor unit in her condominium complex. <br /> City Attorney Iles stated that there is no enforcement mechanism under <br /> Washington State law; therefore, the City of Everett has no jurisdiction or <br /> authority in this area. He stated that the condominium constitutes a private <br /> residence and that the issue is a matter for the condominium association. <br /> 267 <br />
