<br /> overtime pay, and establishing holidays and amending Everett City Code Sec-
<br /> 6 tions 1. 28. 010 and 1. 28. 020.

<br /> 1 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> 811' Section 1: That Everett City Code 1. 28. 010 be, and the same is
<br /> hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit:

<br /> 9 1. 28. 010 How computed - When paid. The work week for all. city
<br /> 10 employees covered by civil service, except communications department em-
<br /> ployees, fi remen, working on a 10 - 14 hour shift basis, policemen and police-
<br /> ! women, city hall janitors, water control station operators, basin patrolmen
<br /> 111
<br /> when working in water shed, and head works operators, shall be forty hours
<br /> 12 per week, eight hours per day. All city employees covered by civil service,
<br /> except communications department employees, firemen working on a 10 - 14
<br /> 131' hour shift basis, policemen and policewomen, city hall janitors, water control
<br /> station operators, basin patrolmen when working in water shed, and head works
<br /> 14 !I operators, who shall be directed to work by the head of their department or
<br /> 11 duly authorized supervisor more than eight hours in any one day, or more than
<br /> 151 forty hours in any calendar week, and in addition any person who shall work
<br /> any day that is designated as a holiday by this ordinance, except Sundays, shall
<br /> 16 ' be paid for such overtime work, or work on such holiday, at an hourly rate
<br /> based upon one and one-half times the employee's monthly salary divided by
<br /> 17 one hundred sixty-eight, which payment shall be in addition to the employee's
<br /> regular monthly payment.

<br /> II The following water department employees, water control station
<br /> 19 1 operators, basin patrolmen while working in the water shed, and head works
<br /> operators, who shall be directed to work by the head of their department or
<br /> 20 ' duly authorized supervisor more than eight hours in any one day or more than
<br /> forty eight hours in any calendar week, or who shall work on any day that is
<br /> 2111 designated as a holiday by this ordinance, except Sundays, shall be paid for 1'
<br /> such overtime work, or work on such holiday, at an hourly rate based upon
<br /> 22 one and one-half times the employee's monthly salary divided by one hundred
<br /> 11 sixty-eight, which payment shall be in addition to the employee's regular

<br /> Any fireman who shall be required to work, as provided by the
<br /> ordinances of the City of Everett, on a ten hour-fourteen hour shift basis,
<br /> 25 II forty-two hours a week basis, who shall be required, at the direction of the
<br /> 1'I head of his department or duly authorized supervisor, to work additional hours
<br /> 26 in addition to his shift when any emergency is declared to exist by the head
<br /> 11 of his department or duly authorized supervisor, shall be allowed one and one-
<br /> 27 half times his monthly salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight, which payment
<br /> I shall be in addition to his regular monthly payment.

<br /> Any policeman or policewoman who shall be required to attend
<br /> 29 I police court to testify at any time other than during his or her shift of work
<br /> shall be allowed payment for two hours' overtime pay based at the rate of one
<br /> 3011 and one-half times his or her monthly salary divided by one hundred sixty-eight
