L.. EVERETT
WASHINGTON
The Site-Based Property Manager and Maintenance Staff person are both dedicated to on-site management of the
Commerce Building. The Family Support Coach Supervisor serves as back up and often provides assistance
supporting residents at Commerce. When a new resident signs their lease with the Property Manager, they are
immediately scheduled for their initial appointment with the Resource Specialist. This introductory meeting
provides a short orientation to the services that can be accessed while living at the Commerce Building.
During the 2018 program year, the Resource Specialist will also be working with residents to continue the
Community Empowerment Program(resident councils)and establish resident common interest groups such as craft
groups,a writing group and recreation groups. This program assists residents in planning and implementing holiday
activities, birthday celebrations and resident advisory meetings. These activities serve multiple purposes, including
strengthening the community and allowing residents to develop skills related to working together and building
social/emotional supports. This support system is critical to the healthy functioning of the community and directly
impacts each resident's ability to maintain permanent housing.
Staffing:
The Resource Specialist has over 10 years' experience in human services working with homeless adults,
economically disadvantaged persons, persons with mental health difficulties and persons with chemical dependency
concerns.
