service shall be two dollars and twenty-five cents per month for the first <br /> living unit, plus two dollars per month for each additional living unit. (A <br /> living unit is defined as one or more habitable rooms which are occupied, <br /> rented, hired out to be occupied, or intended to be occupied by one family <br /> consisting of one or more persons for living, sleeping, and eating, ) <br /> 2. All motels, hotels, lodging houses and boarding houses shall <br /> be charged as provided in Section 1. B 3. If for any reason a meter is not <br /> installed to the premises, the owner shall pay on the same basis as a <br /> multiple family dwelling. <br /> 3. For all other accounts served through a city water meter, <br /> the rate for sewerage service shall be two dollars and fifty cents per month <br /> for the first one thousand cubic feet of water or any part thereof measured <br /> through the water meter per month, plus twenty cents per each additional <br /> one hundred cubic feet of water measured through the water meter during <br /> the same monthly period. <br /> In the event a city approved water or sewage metering device shall <br /> be installed by the person in control at his expense as provided in Everett <br /> City Code Section 14. 12. 030, the monthly sewerage service charge shall <br /> be two dollars and fifty cents for the first one thousand cubic feet of water <br /> and/or sewage measured through said special meter per month, plus <br /> twenty cents for each additional one hundred cubic feet of water (and/or <br /> sewage) measured through the special meter during the same month. <br /> In the event there is no reasonable way to accurately determine <br /> the amount of water being returned to the sewerage system, then an agree- <br /> ment may be made providing that the consumer shall be charged a minimum <br /> monthly sewerage service charge of two dollars and fifty cents basic mini- <br /> mum for an allowance of up to one thousand cubic feet per month of water <br /> or sewerage plus twenty cents per each additional one hundred cubic feet <br /> of water or sewage computed by the following formula: one hundred <br /> cubic feet per month times the number of employees, students, inmates, <br /> or such described individual making use of or employed at the facility to <br /> which the city is providing sewerage service. This agreement, however, <br /> shall be subject to the approval of the city council of the city of Everett. <br /> Upon application as hereinafter set forth, the monthly sewer <br /> service charge for each of the months of July, August and September, for <br /> each sewer customer having a metered water service and using water for <br /> sprinkling purposes, shall be the amount computed by adding the individual <br /> customer's sewer service charge for the previous three monthly billings <br /> (April, May and June) and dividing by three; however, for the year 1965 <br /> only, the charge shall be computed by adding the individual customer's <br /> previous two monthly billings (May and June) and dividing by two; provided, <br /> however, that all persons desiring such adjustment in both cases, by <br /> reasons of using water for sprinkling purposes, shall make application <br /> in writing with the city clerk-comptroller on or before the thirtieth day <br /> of June of the year such adjustment is sought to be applied. <br /> C. For all customers, other than those located in the area herein- <br /> after described, other than single family dwellings whose property has <br /> not been charged with the cost of a lateral sewer and/or trunk sewer and/ <br /> or special facilities required for acceptance and transportation of sewage <br /> by local improvement district assessment or otherwise (excluding the con- <br /> nection charge provided for in Section 14. 12. 010) in addition to the rates <br /> provided in paragraphs A and B above--two dollars and seventy-five cents • <br /> per month plus three and two-thirds cents for each foot of property over <br /> seventy-five feet adjacent to the sanitary sewer system or the combined <br /> -2- <br />
