The coversheet should note that the basement is also an A-3 occupancy. Section 303.2. <br />The occupancy for the basement has been changed to an A-3 per Section 303.2. <br />2. The coversheet should nole that the type of construction is Iil 1-HR with sprinkler <br />substitution in lieu of one-hour fire-resistive construction (this is an occupancy <br />requiremenl). Section 508 and 302.2.2 <br />The construction type has been changed to type lll 1-HR with sprinkler su6stitution in <br />(ieu of one-hour fire-resistive construction. <br />3. The listings o( the fire-rated walls/partitions should be shown on the plans. Section <br />703.1 <br />Fire-ratings have been added to slieet A5.0 as required by Section 703.1. <br />4. The horizontal exit uses a combination of existing wall, wall type A4 on the exterior, and <br />wall type A3 on the interior. Building Section 3/A6.0 shows that the existing wall is <br />discontinuous (at least at the old glazing areas). A wall of at least two-hour fire resistive <br />construction should be provided at those locations — Wall type A3 is only sufficient for up <br />to one-hour construction. Section 1005.3.5.2 <br />The interior wall type has been changed to wall rype A4 to meet the two-hour fire <br />resistive construction rating. Th�s wall will extend from linish floor to the underside of <br />the structural framing above. The wall type has been changed on sheets A1.1 and <br />A 1.2. <br />5. The wood used in the exterior wali details on sheet A8.3 should be shown as fire- <br />retardant treated. Section 503.4.3 <br />The wood used in the exterior wall details on Sheet A8.3 has 6een changed to metal <br />sfud framing to meet ihe requirements on Section 503.4.3. <br />6. It should be noted that all full-height glazing in window type BB is required to be safety <br />glazing.
