August 14, 2019 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., <br /> August 14, 2019, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. Moore Historic <br /> City Hall, Council President Bader presiding. Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor <br /> Franklin and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Vogeli, Bader, Stonecipher, and <br /> Tuohy were present. Council Member Murphy was excused. <br /> Mayor Franklin led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 7, 2019, City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. Council Member Tuohy abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin had no comments. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts announced that the General Government Subcommittee <br /> is scheduled to meet next Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the council chambers. He <br /> commented that on Saturday, he joined the Historical Commission on a walking <br /> tour, which was led by Everett historian Jack O'Donnell. <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member Stonecipher, <br /> to bring back to Council for consideration, a resolution concerning Washington <br /> Initiative 976. <br /> Council Member Roberts explained the design details and impacts if Initiative 976, <br /> the Limits on Motor Vehicle Taxes and Fees Measure, passes in November. He <br /> stated he would work with Legal to develop a draft resolution. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher reported that she toured the Forgotten Creek nature <br /> trail today with Bob Jackson, a Port Gardner resident instrumental in efforts to <br /> clean up and restore the area. She also commented on the closure of the Bond <br /> Street crossing over the Burlington Northern Sante Fe railroad tracks, and she <br /> 241 <br />
