Everett's Climate Action Plan must outline and identify:
1. Mitigation - potential courses of action for identifying and implementing strategies to achieve citywide
reductions in greenhouse gas emissions for both municipal and community operations.
2. Adaptation -potential strategies to prepare the City and its residents for circumstances resulting from
a changing climate,such as storm events,flooding,fires and sea-level rise.
3. Examples of what Everett residents can do in their daily lives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and
their own carbon footprint.
4. Policy recommendations and economic opportunities associated with mitigation and adaptation
strategies.
5. Non-motorized transportation issues through the identification of policy actions.
6. Issues and recommendations for subsequent actions. For example, the City's Comprehensive Plan
climate element suggests actions that the city has not taken.
Climate change is a global problem, not limited to any single city, region or country, the Plan should
endeavor to align the City's response with other initiatives at the regional, state and national levels.
2.5 POTENTIAL OUTLINE
I.
