219 May 15,1991 The regular meeting of the Everett CLty Council was called Sr order at 7;00 p.m., May 15, 1991 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, President Morrow presiding. Upon roll call it was found that all councilmen were present except Councilmen Diamond and Overstreet who were excused. Mayor Kinch was also excused. The minutes of the May 8,1991 meeting were approved as printed. MAYOR'S COMMENTS Mayor KinTrann=d g:igltro:igeprtntltalitonsn M,:mcal=,,,;?roclaimed the month of May, 1991 as "Older May 13th through Met 17th, 1991 was proclaimed "Senior Center t4Int,teletrough May 25th,,1991 was proclaimed"National Public NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP Sarah France, Director of the Office of Neighborhoods, introduced Linda Gough, Planning Department, for a report on the NE Everett/Riverside Spring 1991 Clean-up. Ms. Gough shared a video and slide presentation of the various aspects of the clean-up activities. She recognized Viola Oursler, NE Everett, and Frank Crosby, Riverside, as neighborhood coordinators of the project. Ms. Gough reports that 27 vehicles, and 120 "white goods" (large appliances) were hauled away; 14 sites were cleaned of overgrowth;Rubatino Curbside garbage pickup took away 120,000 lbs. (60 tons)of refuse; and approximately 18 code enforcement cases/problems were closed. Special thanks was given to the Planning Department,Office of Neighborhoods, Youth Commission,Parks Department,Public Works Department, Recycling Division, Communications/Media Department,Alfy's Pizza, Jerry's Surplus, Everett Boys&Girls Club, Everett School District, Delta Baptist Church, Rubatinc Refuse Co, Everett Iron and Metal Co. Twinkie's, Charlie Laborde and Dig D's.
