June T,2008 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> am.,June T.2006 In the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Stonecipher presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson and Council Members Olson,Hatloe,Gipson,Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher,and Overstreet were present.Council Member Roberts was <br /> excused. <br /> Mayor Stephenson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the May 31,2006 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Council President Stonecipher requested an executive session regarding <br /> a personnel matter.The session is expected to last approximately five <br /> minutes with an anticipated announcement to follow. <br /> The City Council meeting recessed for an executive session end <br /> reconvened. <br /> MAYOR <br /> APPOINTMENT—PARKS DIRECTOR <br /> Moved by Council Member Olson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Overstreet to concur with the appointment of Paul Kaftanskl as <br /> Parka Director per Section 4.8 of the City Charter. <br /> Mayor Stephenson remarked that Susan Francisco will fill the new <br /> position of Cultural/Arts Director and that Tom Hingson will replace Paul <br /> Kaftanski as Director of Transportation Services. <br /> Counc'l Member Gipson expressed concem regarding the lack of diversity <br /> on the Mayor's management team. <br /> 158 <br />
