ORDINANCE NO. :38 7 9 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Ordinance <br /> No. 3572 (City Code 15.04.080 through 15.04.110 incl . ) of the <br /> City of Everett entitled: <br /> An ordinance regulating and restricting the location <br /> and use of buildings and land within the City of Everett; <br /> limiting the heighth of buildings; prescribing building <br /> lines and size of yard and other open spaces; providing <br /> for the division of the city into use zones; creating <br /> a Board of Adjustment; and providing for penalties for <br /> violation of the ordinance. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett upon the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Everett <br /> has determined that the amendments hereinafter set forth are in <br /> the best interests of the comprehensive plan of land use for the <br /> City of Everett, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 3572 (City Code <br /> 15.04.0b0) be, and it is hereby amended to read as follows : <br /> "SECTION 6. R-1. SINGLE FAMILY LOW DENSITY RESIDENCE ZONE <br /> A. DECLARATION OF PURPOSE: <br /> The purpose and function of the R-1 Zone is to provide <br /> for and protect certain areas in the City for single- <br /> family residential uses designed to meet contemporary <br /> building and living standards . <br /> B. PERMITTED USES: <br /> 1. Single family dwellings . <br /> 2 . Gardening. <br /> 3. Private garages for single family residences . <br /> 4. Buildings on parks, playgrounds, or school sites, <br /> provided that such buildings shall be located 30 <br /> feet or more from any other lot in Residential Zone. <br /> 5. Non-commercial greenhouses . <br /> 6. Churches provided that the principal building shall <br /> be located 35 feet or more from any other lot in <br /> a residential zone. <br /> 7. Existing railroad rights of way including passenger <br /> shelter stations but not including switching, <br /> storage, freight yards or more than one siding or <br /> passing track. <br /> 8. Rental of rooms of lodging only, limited to 2 <br /> roomers . <br /> 9. Illuminated or non-illuminated residential name- <br /> plates not exceeding one (1) square foot bearing <br /> name of occupant, and bulletin boards for churches <br /> and identifying signs for schools or other public <br /> or semi-public institutions, provided such signs <br /> shall not exceed twelve (12) square feet; also <br /> temporary, non-illuminated real estate for rent <br /> or sale signs not exceeding eight (8) square feet. <br /> 10. Special property uses (See Section 5) . <br /> C. MINIMUM LOT SIZE AND WIDTH: <br /> No lot for single family dwelling shall be less than <br />
