0 ORDINANCE NO. 3527 AN ORDINANCE relating to the regulation of traffic on the public streets of the City of Everett; providing for the regulation and.contrel of parking meters; establishing and defining parking meter zones; requiring the deposit of coins in parking meters by the parking of cars adjacent thereto in parking meter zones; providing penalties for the violation of the provisions of this ordinance; designating the Parking Meter Department under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner of Finance; declaring an emergency to exist and repealing Ordinance No. 2951 . NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 : The word "vehicle" as used herein shall mean any device by which any person or property may be transported upon the highway. Section 2: The following described streets of the City of Everett are hereby designated and established as parking meter zones. It shall be unlawful to park cars on said streets for a longer period of time than is hereby set opposite each specific street or otherwise provided herein: ONE HOUR STREETS Hewitt Ave. from Rucker to Broadway. North side of Hewitt Ave. from Rucker west to alley between Rucker and Grand. Wall St. from Colby Ave. to Wetmore Ave. California Ave. from Hoyt Ave. to Wetmore Ave. Hoyt Ave. from Wall St. to Hewitt Ave. Colby Ave. from Wall St. to 26th St. Wetmore Ave. from Pacific Ave. to California Ave. Rockefeller Ave. from Hewitt Ave. to California Ave. TWO HOUR STREETS Everett Ave. from Colby to Wetmore Ave. California Ave. from Rucker to Hoyt Ave. California Ave. from Wetmore Ave. to Oakes Ave. Wall St. from Hoyt Ave. to Colby Ave. Wall St. from Wetmore Ave. to Rockefeller Ave. Hoyt Ave. from Hewitt Ave. to California Ave. Colby Ave. from Pacific Ave. to Wall St. 1' Wetmore Ave. from California Ave. to Everett Ave . North side of Hewitt Ave. from alley between Rucker and Grand west to Grand Ave. South side of Hewitt Ave. from Rucker Ave. to Grand Ave. is PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that such hours for the limitation of the park- 't ing shall apply only between the hours of 9:00 o'clock A.M. and 6:00 o'clock P.M. , and PROVIDED FURTHER, that the Chief of Police, with the consent of the City Council of the City of Everett, be, and 11 he is hereby authorized to restrict the timefor legal parking to a minimum of 12 minutes in areas adjacent to any bank during bank- ing hours and in any other area so designated, by posting signs plainly indicating the period of time during which vehicles may be legally parked, and to extend, restrict, alter or otherwise change said parking meter zones and limitation of time for parking and jj to create additional parking meter zones, all by and with the con- sent of the City Council of the City of Everett, by appropriate resolution or motion and by posting appropriate signs as herein- before set forth.
