ATT OPDTT01,NCE declaring certain buildings and structures -public nuisances, providing for the abatement thereof and demolition 4 thereof, authorizing certain city officials and employees to examine } every such building or structure and authorizing the City Council to declare such buildings or structures to be public nuisances and 1 unsafe for occupancy, providing for notice thereof, providing for an appeal tereof, providing for an appeal board, providing for i punishment therefor, and declaring an emergency. } TFE CITY OF - 7 EFF TT DOSS ^r D_':T Section 1 : All buildings or structures which are unsafe or not Provided with adequate egress, or .^rhich constitute a 0 fire hazard, or are otherwise dangerous to human life , or which } in relation to existing use constitute a hazard to safety or health 1 by reason of inedeouate maintenance , dilapidation, obsolescence , ' or abandon ent , are , for the nurpose of this Section, unsafe buildings. All such unsafe buildings are hereby declared to be li Public nuisances and shall be abated by repair, rehabilitation , or demolition in accordance with the procedure of this Ordinance . Section 2: The building inspector, the city health officer , the fire chief, the plumbing inspector, the electrical inspect'', and/or their duly authorized agents, shell examine or cause tc be examined every building or structure or portion thereof known to oe or reported to be dangerous or damaged or dilapidated, and if such officers and/or employees shall find any building or i4 structure to De unsafe as defined in Section 1 of this ordinance , then in that evert they shall forthwith make such report to the City Council of Eve: ett. The City Council shall then review the report of such officers and/or employees and shall determine whether i or not such building or structure is an unsafe building or structure as defined in Section 1 of this Ordinance . Tn event a majority of the City Council shall deter ine that such building or structure 0 is an unsafe building or structure as defined in Section 1 of this 1 ordinance , then in that event the City Council shall rer,uire that a notice in writing be given the owner of such building or structure setting forth the defects thereof. This notice shall requ' re the owner within thirty (30 ) days to commence either the reouired re- 1 pairs or iripro�%ements, or to de_r: olish and remove the said building I or structure or portion thereof. If, in the opinion of the City Council, such building or structure or portion thereof shall be found tc he dangerous to life or health, the City Council shall forthwith require in such notice that the building or structure thereof shell j be vacated forthwith end not reoccupied until the required repairs and ieeprovements ere completed, inspected and approved by the City Council. Section 3: _2_h.e notice provided in Section 2 of this ordinance shall be personally served upon the owner, or reputed owner, if found within the city limits.
