ORDINANCE No. AN 0= .DINANTCE fixing and determining the number of the various officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett ; prescribing the duties of such officers, assistants, deputies end employees, fixing their salaries and repealing Ordinance No. 2893 of the City of Everett , and all amendments thereto, and providing that this Ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 1942 . THE CITY OF E'VE ETT DOES ORDAIN': Section 1: That beginning January 1, 1942, and on and after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this Ordinance provided. Section 2 : CITY ATTORNEY a:PARnI ENT. There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a Deputy City Attorney and a stenographer. Said Deputy City Attorney and said stenographer shall perform such duties as the City Attorney nay authorize and direct Section 3: CITY HALL DEPARTHENT. There shall be in the City Hall one janitor and one assistant janitor. Said janitor and said assistant janitor shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. Section 4: LIBRARY DEPARTT TENT. There shall be in the Library Department the following named officers, assistants and employees: One librarian; one head of Juvenile and Schools Department; One first assistant librarian; one cataloger; one desk clerk; one assistant clerk; one juvenile assistant ; and one or more typists, assistants, pages, clerks,menders (part time ) . The librarian shall be in general charge and shall hair: supervision of the Library Department . The other officers, assistants and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the librarian. Section 5: CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTTENT. There shall be in the Civil Service Department the following named officers: One secretary (part time ) and Assistant Examiner. The Secretary and Assistant Examiner shall perform such duties as the Civil Service Commission shall authorize and direct.
