. r c � ORDINANCE No. 2709 Aic OPDINANCE providing for an emergency expenditure to cover the cost of extra help in the office of the City Clerk! of Everett in connection with the registration of voters; pro- viding for an emergency expenditure in the city hall Department of the city of Everett to cover the cost of repairing its roof, to cover cost of heating building and to cover cost of premium for public liability policy; providing for an emergency expenditure in the Park Department of the City of Everett caused by the increased cost of maintenance and operation made necessary by reason of grants to the Park Department from the Federal Government under W. P. A. , and providing for an emergenc expenditure in the Water Department for the purpose of replacing approximately 1 ,000 feet of pipe line on 10th Street between Hoyt Avenue and the waterfront made necessary by reason of a break in said pipe line ; providing for issuing emergency warran •s therefor, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That a public emergency exists and the amount of the expenditure therefor could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the year 1936, to wit : In October 1935; that said emergency has been caused by reason of the fact that an unusual amount of work has been required in connection with the registration of voters in the City of Everett and extra help was necessary in the City Clerk 's office in connection with said registration; that the amount of money required to meet said emergency is the estimated sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ( 150.00) to pay for such extra help, and said amount is hereby appropriated to cover such expenditure . Section 2: That there is hereby appropriated out of the General Expense Fund of Everett , not otherwise budgeted, for the use in the Department of the City Clerk of the City of Everett the .sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars (5150.00) to pay such emergency expenditure , which sum shall be paid by the issuance of emergency warrants on such General Current Expense Fund by the proper officers of the City of Everett , as provided by law. Section 3: That a public emergency exists and the amount of the expenditure therefor could not have been reason- ably foreseen at the time of making the budget for the year 1936, to wit : In October 1935; that said expenditure has been caused by reason of the unusual and unforeseen cost of heating the City Hall and of making necessary repairs to the roof of the City Hall, and to pay a premium for public liability policy; that the amount of money required to meet such emergency is the estimated sum of Five Hundred Twenty-five Dollars (y{525.00) to pay for'_ said neat, repairs and insurance premium, and said amount is hereby appropriated to cover such emergency.
