A ORDINANCE No. 2706 AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 20 , 23, 83 and 84 of Ordinance No. 2318 of the City of Everett, entitled as follows: "An Ordinance relating to vehicles and regulating the use and operation thereof upon the streets and other public places within the City of Everett; providing penalties for the violation thereof; repealing Ordinance No. 1825 and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, " and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 : That Section 20 of Ordinance No. 2318 be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 20 : SIGNALS OF TRAFFIC OFFICERS. It shall be the duty of every person operating or driving any motor or other vehicles or any animal upon any street where any authorized officer, marshal , constable, or policeman displaying his star or badge is at the time dis- charging the duty of regulating and directing traffic in his locality, or where there is installed and in use any mechanical device for the purpose of signalling or directing traffic or any sign or direction board or device giving directions or instructions to traffic in such locality installed and/or maintained by the City of Everett to obey all signals and/or directions of such officer , or of such mechanical device , sign or direction board or device giving directions or instructions to traffic in such locality, directing such driver, operator or person in charge of such animal or vehicle to take a certain direction or to stop or to otherwise proceed for the safety of the public and to comply with all such osiers, signs or directions . Section. 2: That Section 23 of Ordinance No. 2318 be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 23: That the following streets of the City of Lverettt are hereby designated as arterial main travelled highways, to wit : Hewitt Avenue from the West line of Rucker Avenue to the East line of Chestnut Street; Broadway Avenue from the North City Limits to the South City Limits; Rucker Avenue from the South City Limits to the North line of Everett Avenue; Everett Avenue from the West line of Rucker Avenue to the East City Limits; Nineteenth Street from the East line of Rucker Avenue to the 'Wriest line of Walnut Street.
