• ORDINANCE NO. 2446 An Ordinance Providing for the improvement of Hewitt Avenue, from Rucker to Norton Avenues, and Rucker Avenue, from Hewitt to California Avenues, by the installation of an electric street lighting system, and doing all other work necessary to make a complete improvement, in accordance with three majority peti- tions therefor, creating an assessment district, creating a lo- cal improvement district fund therefor, providing for payment for said improvement by special assessmentson the property in said district under the mode of payment by bonds. WHEREAS, there has heretofore been filed with the Commis- sioner of Public Works a majority petition of the property own- ers on Hewitt Avenue, from Rucker Avenue to Grand Avenue, also a majority petition of the property owners on Hewitt Avenue, from Grand Avenue to Norton Avenue, and also a majority petition of the "property owners on Rucker Avenue, from Hewitt Avenue to Cal- ifornia Avenue, petitioning for the installation of an electric street lighting system; and WHEREAS, after due hearing on said petitions it appears to the City Council that public convenience and necessity require ' that said improvements be made; and WHEREAS, the said improvements can be made more economically if consolidated into one district ; now, therefore, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That Hewitt Avenue, from Rucker to Norton Ave- nues, and Rucker Avenue, from Hewitt to California Avenues, be im- proved by the installation of an electric street lighting system, and doing all other work necessary to make a complete improve- ment, all according to the plans an4 specifications prepared un- der the direction of the. City Engineer, which plans and specifica- tions are hereby adopted and approved.
