Y <br /> 110 pr <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2290 . <br /> An Ordinance submitting to the legal voters of the city <br /> of Everett a proposed amendment to the Charter of said city rel- <br /> ative to municipal elections. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That proposed amendments to Sections 69, 70, <br /> 71, 72 and 75 of the Charter of the city of Everett relative to <br /> municipal elections, be submitted to the qualified votefg' the <br /> city at a special municipal election to be held in said city <br /> on December 4, 1926. <br /> Section 2: That section 69 of the Charter of the city <br /> of Everett be amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "Section 69: ELECTIONS A general municipal election <br /> shall be held in the year 1927, and each fourth year thereaf- <br /> ter, on the date fixed by state law. A municipal primary elec- <br /> tion shall be held two weeks prior to each general municipal e- <br /> lection. All other elections shall be known as special municipal <br /> elections. <br /> Section 3: That section 70 of the Charter of the city of <br /> Everett be amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "Section 70: FILING DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY: <br /> (a) Not earlier than forty (40) days and not later than <br /> thirty (30) days before any municipal primary election any per- <br /> son who shall be eligible for election to any office provided for <br /> under the charter of the city of Everett, and who shall desire <br /> to become a candidate for nomination for any such office, shall <br /> i <br /> present to the city clerk a declaration of candidacy for nomin- <br /> ation to such office, and upon payment of a filing fee in the <br /> sum of ten dollars ( 410.00) the city clerk shall place an file <br /> in his office said declaration of candidacy. <br /> (b) Said declaration of candidacy shall be made upon <br /> a form furnished by the city clerk to any person applying there- <br /> ," <br />
