ORDINANCE No . 9
<br /> 1 An ordinance providing for the use, protection and preservation
<br /> 2 of the Public streets , roads and highways within the City of Everett,
<br /> 3 and for the licensing, operation and speed regulation of freight
<br /> 4 vehicles thereon, and prescribing penalties for the violation there-
<br /> 5 of and declaring an emergency.

<br /> THE CITY OP EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:

<br /> 8 Section 1 : It shall be unlawful for any person to drive, pro-
<br /> 9 pel, draw, move, convey or transport or cause to be driven, propelle. ,
<br /> 10 drawn, moved, conveyed or transported over, upon, along or across an
<br /> 11 public street, road or highway, within the corporate limits of the
<br /> 12 City of Everett, any vehicle or object which, with or without its
<br /> 13 load, shall be of such weight , or which shah. have any wheel or tire
<br /> 14 so made, constructed, formed or shaped or so equipped with spikes,
<br /> 15 cleats, lugs or other attachments or projections as to destroy or
<br /> 16 permanently injure such street , road or highway or the surface, foun-
<br /> 17 dation or other part thereof; and it shall be unlawful for any per-
<br /> 18 son to drive, propel, draw, move, convey or transport or cause to be
<br /> 19 driven, propelled, drawn, moved, conveyed or transported over, upon,
<br /> 20 along or across any public street within the corporate limits of the
<br /> 21 City of Everett; any automobile, auto truck or #otor propelled ve-
<br /> 22 hicle or truck or trailer or truck and trailer which with or without
<br /> 23 its load shall weigh more than twenty-four thousand pounds.
<br /> 24 Section 2: It shall be unlawful for any person, persons or cor-
<br /> 25 porations to drive, propel , draw, move, convey or transport or cause
<br /> 26 to be driven, propelled, drawn, moved, conveyed or transported over,
<br /> 27 upon, along or across any public street within the corporate limits
<br /> 28 of the City of Everett, any truck or trailer or any truck and trailer,
<br /> 29 with or without its load which shall weigh any more than its licensed
<br /> 30 capacity, but in no event shall. said truck or trailer or truck and
<br /> 31 trailer, with or without its load, weigh more than twenty-four thous-
