1 a 3 1 ORDINANCE NO. 3022-07 AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 2006 edition Of the International Fire Code, as amended by the Washington State Building Code Council in Chapter 51-54 of the Washington Administrative Code, Amending Sections 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Ordinance No. 2985-07 (EMC 16.02.020,16.02.030, 16.03.050, 16.03.060, 16.03.070 and 16.03.080, and adding a section, and repealing Sections 1 through 8 of Ordinance No. 823-81 and Sections 1 through 4 of Ordinance No. 1380-87 (Chapter 8.28 EMC). Whereas,the City Council finds that this ordinance serves to protect the public health, safety and welfare; and Whereas, the City Council finds that the absence of the regulations adopted by this ordinance would create a public harm; and Whereas, the City Council has been advised that the State Building Code Council, established with authority granted by the state legislature, has adopted and made revisions to the 2006 edition of the International Fire Code; and Whereas, the City Council is aware that the 2006 International Fire Code, as adopted and revised by the State Building Code Council, took effect in all counties and cities on July 1, 2007; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2985-07 (EMC 16.03.020), which reads as follows: Fire department established. There is hereby established in the City of Everett, the Fire Department which shall be under the jurisdiction of the Fire Chief, designated by the Mayor.
