ORDINANCE NO. An ordinance regulating the installation, erection, alter- ation, repair, use and operation of electric wiring, connections, fixtures, and other electrical appliances in buildings and other structures in the city of Everett, providing a penalty for the violation thereof, repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency. THE; CITY OF I VER TT DOE» ORDAIN: z;ection 1: The word "person" wherever used in this ordinance, shall be held and construed to mean, and include, natural persons of either sex, associations, co-partnerships and corpora- tions , whether acting by themselves or by a servant, agent or employee; the singular number shall be held to include the plural and the masculine pronoun to include the feminine. The word "inspector" wherever used in this ordinance shall be held and construed to mean and include the city electrician of the city of Everett, or any of ,his duly authorized assistants. The word "owner" wherever used in this ordinance, shall be held and construed to mean and include every person using or operating electrical equipment subject to inspection under this ordinance. The words "electrical equipment" wherever used in this ordinance, shall be held and construed to mean and include any electrical wires, appliances , epp atus or electrical construction of any kind, except such as are or may be used for telephone, telegraph or signal purposes , installed or used in any building or structure in the city of Everett. The word "approved" wherever used in this ordinance, shall be held and construed to mean and include the approval of the city electrician.
