ORDINANCA NO. \J 0` An ordinance for the preservation of public morality, peace, safety and good order in the city of Averett, and defining disorderly persons , and providing penalties for the violation thereof, repealing Ordinances Numbers 13, 14, 162, 345, 460, 464, 784, 812, 1078, and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here- with, except as to acts and offenses committed under such ordinances, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OP J V.G'Rr;TT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: The following persons are declared to be dis- orderly persons: First: All drunken persons found intoxicated in any pub- lic place within the city of i verett. Second: All persons fighting or quarreling in said city. Third: All persons who shall resist any peace officer or policeman, or who shall refuse when called upon to assist him in the discharge of his duty, or who shall aid or assist any person in the lawful custody of such peace officer or policeman to escape, or attempt to escape, from such custody. Fourth: All persons who shall by noisy, riotous, or tu- multuous conduct disturb the quiet and peace of said city, or of any lawful meeting or assemblage therein. Fifth: All persons who shall wilfully give a false alarm of fire. Sixth: All persons who shall use vulgar, profane, abusive, or obscene language, or be guilty of any indecent or immoral act, practice or conduct tending to debauch public morals. Seventh: All persons trespassing upon or injuring any park, parking strip, or grass plot. .eighth: All persons who shall wilfully break, mar, injure, or deface any building, fence, awning, window, sign, signboard, tree, flowers , grass , shrubbery, or other thing of value, being the prop- erty of another, in said city.
