- I, <br /> ORDINANCE <br /> An ordinance providing for the licensing of billiard, <br /> pool and pigeon-hole tables, and ten pin alleys , fixing the amount <br /> of license therefor, and prescribing the punishment for the viola- <br /> tions thereof,repealing Ordinance No . 42, ,nd all ordinances and parts <br /> of ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVE'RETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> section 1: No person shall keep within the city of <br /> Everett any billiard, pool or pigeon-hole table, or any ten pin <br /> alley, to be used or played upon by others for hire or gain, without <br /> first having obtained a license therefor, and any person who keeps <br /> any billiard, pool or pigeon-hole table, or ten pin alley in a <br /> drinking saloon, or other business house, or in a building or room <br /> adjoining or attached thereto , and shall allow the same to be used <br /> by persons to determine by play thereon or thereat which of the <br /> persons so playing shall pay for drinks, cigars or other articles for <br /> sale in such saloon or business house, shall be deemed to be keeping <br /> the same for hire. <br /> Section 2: The license fee to be charged by said city for <br /> keeping billiard, pool of pigeon-hole tables is hereby fixed at the <br /> sum of fifteen (S15.00) dollars per year for each such table, and for <br /> keeping ten tin or box ball or bowling alleys is hereby fixed at <br /> the sum of ten (h10.00) dollars per year for each such ten pin or <br /> box ball or bowling alley; provided, however, that when a person, <br /> firm or corporation shall keep in the same room more than one such <br /> table, or shall keep in the same room more than one such ten-pin <br /> or box ball or bowling alley, that the annual license fee shall be <br /> fifteen (.$$ld.00) for one such table and ten ($10.00) dollars for <br /> each additional table, and ten (*l0.00) dollars for one such alley, <br /> and five (5.00) dollars for each additional- alley. No license men- <br /> tioned herein shall be granted for a longer period than one (1-) <br /> year from date thereof. <br />
