NO. \_ =r�s <br /> An ordinance amending Section 4 of Ordinance No. 835 of <br /> the city of Averett, entitled "An ordinance for the protection of <br /> public and private sewers, plumbing and drainage , and to provide for <br /> the making of connections therewith, and prescribing penalties for <br /> the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances and parts of <br /> ordinances in connection herewith" , and amending said ordinance by <br /> adding thereto two sections, to be designated as Sections 28 and 29, <br /> and declaring an emergency. <br /> TI A C ITY OF . V.RL TT DOAS ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 835 of the <br /> city of Ave.r. ett, entitled as above set forth, be and the same is <br /> hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 4: The material used in the construction of <br /> private sewers or drain pipes, must be substantially like that used <br /> in the public sewer with which connection is made, and no private or <br /> public sewer constructed with cement or any tile sewer pipe shall be <br /> allowed under any buildings if such pipe is used to connect any <br /> plumbing fixtures, or used as a conductor of sewerage. <br /> Section 2: That said ordinance be and the same is hereby <br /> amended by adding thereto a section to be designated as Section 28. <br /> Said section shall read as follows: <br /> Section 28: When connection is made with the main sewer <br /> or drain and the 'Y' in the main sewer or drain is larger than <br /> the lateral, there must be a bell of the smaller pipe or reducer <br /> used, and in all cases where a hole is tapped in the main pipe there <br /> must be a bell of the lateral put in before starting with the lateral, <br /> and in all cases where small pipe connects to large pipe there must <br /> be a bell of small pipe or reducer used in bell of large pitpe before <br /> starting with small pipe. No straight pipe will he permitted to be <br />
