May 27, 2026 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 12:30 p.m., May 27, 2026, <br />by President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Weir, Burbano, Tuohy, <br />Bader, Rhyne and President Schwab were present. Council Member Zarlingo was excused and <br />Council Member Bader was expected to be late. <br /> <br />Council Member Weir led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin advised tomorrow is the Sound Transit Board meeting that results in the <br />expansion vote and suggested the public provide comment. <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the May 20, 2026, meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The council received two (2) written comments and the following members of the public spoke: <br />Jeff Clarke, Joe Bennett, Pauline Anderson, and Elaine Keasy. <br /> <br />Council Member Bader arrived at 12:47 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Council Member Weir thanked the public commenters, reported on her attendance at the <br />Historic Commission meeting, and advised the Everet Cleaning Day is happening on May 30th <br />from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. She also stated that on May 30th, the community is hosting a free helmet <br />and bike safety event, the Shack Art Center artist garage sale and District 1 Town Hall is on June <br />2nd. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne commented on the ability to provide comment at the Sound Transit <br />Board meeting, reported on her attendance at the Republic of the Marshall Islands Constitution
