FT <br /> i.Y ERE/ <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2013-94 <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the submission to the <br /> qualified electors of the City of Everett, at <br /> a special election to be held therein on <br /> September 20, 1994, of a proposition <br /> authorizing the City to impose an additional <br /> regular property tax levy in an amount equal <br /> to a maximum of forty-three cents per <br /> thousand dollars of the assessed value of <br /> property in the City each year for six <br /> consecutive years for emergency medical care <br /> and services including paramedic services and <br /> providing for the annual levy and collection <br /> of taxes for such purposes, if approved. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there exists a critical <br /> need. to maintain and improve emergency medical care and <br /> services in the City, including related personnel costs, <br /> training for such personnel, and related equipment, <br /> supplies, vehicles and structures needed for said services; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, to maintain and improve such program it is deemed <br /> necessary and advisable that the City impose an additional <br /> regular property tax levy in the amount equal to a maximum <br /> of forty-three cents per thousand dollars of the assessed <br /> value of property in the City each year for six consecutive <br /> years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the State of <br /> Washington require that the question of whether or not the <br /> City may impose said additional property tax levy for such <br /> purpose must be submitted to the qualified electors of the <br /> City for their approval; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1: As used in this ordinance, the words <br /> hereinafter defined shall have the meaning set forth in this <br /> section: <br /> A. "City" means the City of Everett, Washington. <br /> B. "Legislative Authority" means the Mayor and City <br /> Council of the City. <br />
