FT i.Y ERE/ ORDINANCE NO. 2013-94 AN ORDINANCE providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the City of Everett, at a special election to be held therein on September 20, 1994, of a proposition authorizing the City to impose an additional regular property tax levy in an amount equal to a maximum of forty-three cents per thousand dollars of the assessed value of property in the City each year for six consecutive years for emergency medical care and services including paramedic services and providing for the annual levy and collection of taxes for such purposes, if approved. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there exists a critical need. to maintain and improve emergency medical care and services in the City, including related personnel costs, training for such personnel, and related equipment, supplies, vehicles and structures needed for said services; and WHEREAS, to maintain and improve such program it is deemed necessary and advisable that the City impose an additional regular property tax levy in the amount equal to a maximum of forty-three cents per thousand dollars of the assessed value of property in the City each year for six consecutive years; and WHEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the State of Washington require that the question of whether or not the City may impose said additional property tax levy for such purpose must be submitted to the qualified electors of the City for their approval; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1: As used in this ordinance, the words hereinafter defined shall have the meaning set forth in this section: A. "City" means the City of Everett, Washington. B. "Legislative Authority" means the Mayor and City Council of the City.
