RESOLUTION NO.c7f(

A RESOLUTION of Intent to supply water to the City of
Marysville, subject to appropriate planning therefor and
directing City of Everett staff to perform all necessary
information gathering and planning to accomplish said
connection to the City of Everett water system.
WHEREAS, the City of Marysville is in need of a major new source of
water and has joined with other public water purveyors in North Snohomish
County to form a regional association known as Sno-Water. Sno-Water has
obtained a consultant's report indicating that the City of Everett is the
only source of water adequate to meet the foreseeable needs of North
Snohomish County; and
WHEREAS, Sno-Water has petitioned the Snohomish County Council to
declare North Snohomish County as a Critical Water Supply Service Area
pursuant to RCW 70.116. County staff predicts that the process will take
approximately three years. At the conclusion of the process a plan will be
adopted which will coordinate and regulate the distribution of water
throughout North Snohomish County. In the meantime, however, the need for a
wholesale source of water is critical . The City of Marysville has been
asked by Sno-Water to take the lead in obtaining such a source on an
immediate basis;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVERETT as follows:
1 . City utility staff shall provide information and planning
assistance to the City of Marysville staff and consultants to accomplish the

supply of water to Marysville in accordance with the City of Everett's

ordinances, standards, policies and plans. Point of delivery, and the point

of the master meter, would be located on the City's transmission line on

East Hewitt. Marysville would construct and own a transmission main from

that point to the Marysville city limits.
