• <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6a? 2- ? <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending the rates for sewer service in the City of <br /> 3 Everett and amending Sections 1 and 3 of Ordinance No. 237-73 (EMC <br /> 14.04.020; 14.04.100; 14.04.110; 14.04.130 and 14.04.140). <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that increased sewer <br /> 7 <br /> 8 service charges are necessary to support the repair, replacement, and improvement of <br /> the City of Everett sewer utility system and to pay for increased operating costs of the <br /> 9 <br /> system; and <br /> 10 <br /> WHEREAS, after public hearings and deliberations, the City Council finds that <br /> 11 <br /> the charges herein are reasonable. <br /> 12 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Section IA: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 237-73 (EMC 14.04.020) is hereby <br /> 15 amended in full to read hereafter as follows: <br /> 16 <br /> The charges for the collection and disposal of sanitary sewage <br /> 17 waste for the classes of users connected and to be connected to the <br /> sanitary sewer system or the combined sewer system are hereby fixed as <br /> 18 follows: <br /> 19 A. Single family residence: $3.80 per month <br /> 20 B. For other than single family residence (multiple family residence, <br /> commercial and industrial users, etc.) the rate shall be computed in <br /> 21 accordance with the following formula: <br /> 22 Sewer service charge per month = <br /> 23 Metered water usage X $3.80 <br /> 900 cubic feet <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Where the use of water is such that a portion of all of the water <br /> delivered to the customer does not discharge into a City sewer due to <br /> 26 commercial or industrial use, such as loss by evaporation or any other <br /> cause or use in manufactured products, such as ice, canned goods, <br /> 27 beverages and the like, no sewer service charge shall be made because of <br /> water so used or lost; provided however, the water user shall provide proof <br /> 28 as to the amount of sewage discharge and/or install a meter or other <br /> measuring device approved by the City Engineer to determine either the <br /> 29 amount of sewage discharge or the amount of water so used or lost. <br /> 30 Payment of the sewer service charge shall commence at the time <br /> of physical connection to the sewer system. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
