1 ORDINANCE NO, <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE establishing fees, requirements <br /> and procedures for merchant (security) police- <br /> 3 men, private detectives, merchant patrol agencies <br /> 4 and private detective agencies licenses; repealing <br /> Ordinance No. 224-73. <br /> 5 <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Section 1: License -- Required. <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, association, co- <br /> 8 <br /> partnership or any other organization of any kind to act as or carry on the <br /> 9 occupation of merchant (security) patrolman or merchant patrol agency, or <br /> 10 private detective or private detective agency within the limits of the City of <br /> 11 Everett without first having made the application therefor to the City Clerk <br /> 12 and approved by the Chief of Police pursuant to a security clearance and <br /> 13 issued a license from the City Clerk of the City of Everett for the carrying <br /> on of said occupation or acting as such merchant (security) patrolman, <br /> 14 <br /> merchant patrol agency or private detective or private detective agency. <br /> 15 <br /> Section 2: Individual license --Required. <br /> 16 <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, association, co- <br /> 17 partnership or any other organization of any kind to employ or cause to be <br /> 18 employed any merchant (security) patrolman or private detective, or any <br /> 19 other person or persons to act as such within the limits of the City of <br /> 20 Everett, who has not first made application and obtained a license as <br /> 21 provided in this chapter, to carry on such business or occupation. <br /> 22 Section 3: Application--Required--To state nature of work. <br /> 23 It shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, association, co- <br /> partnership or any other organization of any kind to carry on the business <br /> 24 <br /> of merchant (security) patrolman or private detective or to act as such <br /> 25 within the limits of the City of Everett without first having made application <br /> 26 to the City Clerk of the City of Everett for a license, and without first <br /> 27 having obtained such license as provided in this chapter, to carry on such <br /> 28 business or occupation, in which application shall be given the name and <br /> residence of the applicant and a brief statement specifying in detail the <br /> 29 <br /> nature of the work in which the applicant intends to engage, and carry on <br /> 30 <br /> within the City of Everett.
