•
I
City of Everett
' Everpark Garage Repairs Addendum No.3
Response: FRP samples and information are to be submitted to the City of Everett. The
information noted is to be treated as a submittal, with standard submittal review schedule per
the specifications.
ITEM 4— Please clarify who is to pay for the FRP material testing noted on the drawings and as
' required in specification section 03 013072, 3.3. 4.
Response: The owner provides special inspection and testing services for the FRP materials and
installation.
ITEM 5— Please clarify who is paying for the Certified Special Inspector required for the FRP
' installation in specification section 03 013072, 3.3, A, 2. 5.
Response: The owner has selected and will provide financial responsibility for Certified Special
' Inspector for FRP installation.
ITEM 6—The drawings say the concrete repairs and locations are approximate and must be
field verified. This cannot be determined by the bidding contractors unless they sound the
entire garage. Can a square foot quantity for the concrete slab and overhead repairs be
provided so that each contractor can be bidding the same scope of work?Although a lineal
footage is provided, the widths can vary greatly and affect the total quantity of work that is
unknown prior to work being performed.Typically unit prices are submitted as well for
' variation +/-from base bid quantities as the deterioration extents are a buried condition. Can
unit prices for variations be added to the bid form?
' Response: The intent is for visual review of the garage only. Detailed concrete surface testing,
such as sounding, is not anticipated. Lineal foot information provided in the drawings is
measured longitudinally along the reinforcing lines. Typical reinforcing spacing is 8 inches to 9
' inches on-center. Detail 20/S.11 indicates a 9 inch minimum width to be assumed at typical
locations. The lineal foot number can be multiplied by the 9 inch width to provide an estimated
' square footage value at each location. Replace Specification 00 4113 Bid Form with Attached
SECTION 00 41 13 (Revision A 6/19/19) BID FORM with unit pricing for additional slab repairs.
' ITEM 7—Multiple overhead lines on the east elevation at the alley are very close to the column
CRFP work that will wrap around to the exterior. What are these lines and do they require
covering per OSHA guidelines to safely access the work?
' Response: All other requirements of the plans and specifications remain in effect.
' ITEM 8—What are the requirements for phasing of the work? What is the maximum amount of
parking spaces that can be closed at one time?
t Response: Refer to section General Conditions 00 7200, Construction Schedule 5.2.2, and 00
7300, Part 5, Working Hours 5.1, General Contractor will be required to provide a project
schedule that clearly defines each phase of work including planned facility closure(s), length of
' time area(s) is/are to be closed, and projected reopening of affected area(s).
i
