City of Everett
Everpark Garage Repairs Addendum No. 3
IResponse: Section 3.11 A of the noted specification indicates to "Apply to traffic-bearing
surfaces, including parking areas and walks." This is expected to apply throughout the elevated
Ilevels of the garage. Application to on-grade locations is not required.
ITEM 15 —Is a colored topcoat finish to the FRP system required?
IResponse: FRP topcoat color should match the adjacent surface colors. At adjacent concrete
locations, the color should approximate the concrete.
IITEM 16—Specification section 09 9653 is included for concrete, however we cannot find
where or the extents this is required in the drawings. Please clarify.
IResponse: Specific applications for Specification section 09 9653 are not identified for this
project. Specification can be used in cases where miscellaneous painting is performed.
IITEM 17 —The BASF traffic coating system specified can be applied in several different total mil
thickness: medium, heavy duty and extra heavy duty. Which system is to be installed?
IResponse: The "heavy duty" thickness should be used.
ITEM 18— Does the work required at the "W" locations include wrapping of the columns and
Icorbels as shown in Detail 14/S.10, or only wrapping of the beams?
Response: Locations noted "W" receive beam improvements only, per the reference to Detail
I15/S.10. The typical beam repair alignment and extents is per Detail 14/S.10 SIM. Column
repair occurs at Grids 21/E on Sheet S.8A only. See Addendum No. 2, Item 3, for reference
I
clarification.
ITEM 19— Detail 14/S.10 notes that cracks at the column are to be epoxy injected. Multiple
I cracks were also noted at the beams where the CFRP is to be installed. Are these cracks to be
injected as well? Can a quantity be provided as a baseline for bidding as each location varies in
the amount of cracking?
IResponse: The CFRP system is a bidder-designed system, based on information provided in the
drawing and specifications. Crack injection should be provided where required by the
Imanufacturer's recommendations for the CFRP system selected or where required by the
bidder's designer.
IITEM 20—Is the extent of the "Replace sealant at stair/wall joint" work at the stair towers at
the top deck level only or is it to continue to the lower levels.
IResponse: Work noted should continue to the lower levels.
ITEM 21—Specification section 01 3223 requires the contractor to hire a surveyor for this work.
I
What is the scope of the surveyor as we do not see where this would be applicable to the type
of work being performed?
I
