r.
3. Building founde .ons may be constructed as conventional spread
footings supported on structural fill soils. Floors may be
constructed as slabs-on-grade suppor[ed on structural fill.
4, The existing fill soils contain large amounts of debris and it is
unlikely thet it will be possible to reuse these soils as structural
fills on the s3te. Hence, it is recommended that you plan to import
all struc[ural fills that will 6e required on the site.
The following sections of this report describe our study and explein our
recommendations in greeter detail.
E%ISTING SITE ^ANDITIONS
The property is situeted on the northeast corner of the intersection of 38th
Street and Rucker Avenue in Everett, Washington. The property measures about
110 feet by 120 feet in plan dimension. The site varies 3n elevation from a
high at about Elev. +186 neer the corner of Rucker Avenue and 38th Street to
a lox at about Elev. +179 near the alley at the northeast corner.
The western section of the property is paved and contains an abandoned small
drive-in reataurant building. Most cf the'eastern section, in the area of
the propoaed etore, is dirt covered an.1 vacant. We understand [tat much of
this area was recently filled with 4 to 5 feet of fill and a rockery was
installed along the northern and eastern margins of the property. The 3 to 4
foot high rockery lies adjacent to a pevement area for e commercial building
Co the north. To the east, an alley, single family residences, and
apartments are present.
PROJECf
The site developmen[ layout provided to us indicates that the 40 by 70 foot
building will be located adjacent to the property lines in the northeest
corner of the property. The layout also 3ndicates that the buiTding setbacks
on the north and east sides, adjacent to the rockery, will be five feet.
Pavement areas for driveways and park3ng for 18 cars vill be provided along
the west and south sides oE the property.
We anticipate that only minor cuts and fills will be required to achieve [he
planned finish grade, which will be at or near the existing grades in the
building area. We expect that foundation loeds for the singr.-stary store
building would be on the order of 2,000 pounds per lineal foot of wall. No
column loads are expected since the building will be supported entirely along
its perimeter. Floor slabs may have uniform floor loads of approximately 200
pounds per square foot.
Our understanding of the proposed construction is as described aUove. If any
changes are made, rre should be notified so that We cen assess the effeccs af
these changes on the recommendations presented in this report. We cen [hen
present our recommendations for revisions to Che presently proposed design
cri[eria that may be required by the design changes.
Prninrf Nn T_9Z'3 Pann 9
