c
Meg Haley
From: Meg Haley
Sent: Tuesday, October 07, 2008 4:30 PM
To: 'dodyssey@hotmail.com'
Cc: 'gdp@gte.neP; 'acherba@gmail.com'; Tony Lee; Rick Robinson
Subject: RE: Status of review of Harvest Christian Center B0801-047
Atta c h m e n ts: 0 046_0 01. p d f
Ruth and Alex,
There are two main issues in this e-mail and Ruth's response letter that we need to clarify.
• The first issue is phasing and permits. I would be glad to meet with you to resolve the remaining issues to get a permit
for the work that you would like to inciude in this phase. If you are planning on two phases, where the mezzanine and
elevator are being constructed during a time of year when the daycare would not be in use, ihen separate permits are
recommended. That way you can obtain a certificate of occupancy for the daycare services, and then phase another
permit for the construction of the mezzanine and the elevator at a time when you could close down the daycare. For
reference, att:3ched is the daycare checklist and Ruth's response letter, which I would like to discuss with you to make
sure I understand what is referenced on the letter.

0046_OOl.pdf(554
KB)
• The second issue is the elevator. In researching the elevator requirements, we may have to revisit the conv=rsation
we had last week regarding eievator size, based on the following City of Evereti ordinance.
V. Scction 3002.4 of thc 2006 Gdition ot the II3C is amended as follows:
Where elevators are provided in buildings, at least one elevator shall be provided for fire depariment
emergency ccess to all Iloors. The cicvator cr shall be of such a size and arcangement to accommodate
a 24-inch by 84-inch (610 mm by 19311 mm) ambulance stretcher in the horizontal, open position and
shall be identified by tle international symbol for emergency medical services (star of life). The symbol
shall not be less than 3 inches (7G mm) high and shall be placed inside on both sides of the hoistway
door frame.
Exception: If all stories within tlie building have direct, accessible egress to grade.
Please le! me know what is most convenient for you. I can arrange a meeting to suit your schedule.
'Meg
Meg Haley Plans Etiaminer, NCARB
Engineering/Public Scrvices 3200 Cedar Street, Semnd Floor Everett, \NA 9&201
P: 425.258.8813 F: 425.Z57.8856 E: mha ci.evere_tt.wa.us W: htto•//www ci everett va u/default asoxID=1170
